Create 1099 Runs
- Set up 1099 reporting for the reporting year. See Steps: Set Up 1099 Reporting.

You can create original or additional 1099 runs. See Concept: 1099 Runs.
- Access theCreate 1099 Runtask.
- As you complete the task, consider:
Option Description 1099 Run SelectionSelect:- Initial Runto create or modify an original 1099 run for a given form type, tax year, and company.
- Additional Runto create an additional 1099 run that only includes data for payees missing from existing 1099 runs for the same form type, tax year, and company.

When you create additional 1099 runs, Workday populates the company from the 1099 run that you select.Modify Existing 1099 DataDisplays when you create initial 1099 runs.You can select this check box:- When there's already an original 1099 run for the same form type, tax year, and company.
- To confirm that you want to replace the original 1099 run and merge additional runs.
Workday saves the 1099 processing run and displays a report of 1099 payees and amounts:
- 1099 runs only include payees with reportable federal payment amounts greater than zero. Payees with reportable state payments whose federal payments amount to zero don’t show in 1099 runs.
- You can drill down on payees for an overview of their 1099 run data for the selected company.
When you create additional runs, Workday:
- Saves 1 additional 1099 run with payees that you set up for 1099 processing and who aren't already included in original or additional 1099 runs for the same form type, tax year, and company.
- Doesn’t update the original 1099 run.
- Print 1099 forms for your payees and 1096 forms for your records.
- Generate 1099 electronic files for the IRS.
