Concept: Migration of Allocation Pools and Allocation Plans Between Tenants

You can migrate allocation pools and allocation plans between tenants using Object Transporter by selecting the
Allocation Plans
implementation type.
You can only migrate allocation pool versions that are in
Active
version status in the source tenant. Versions created in the target tenant are also created in
Active
version status.
We don’t currently migrate:
  • Attachments or roles on allocation pools or allocation plans. The pool or plan will migrate but any attachments or roles won’t.
  • Allocation pools that were created before Workday delivered the version functionality. Before you migrate older allocation pools, access the
    Upgrade
task from the related actions menu of the allocation pool in Workday.
To migrate data from a source tenant that uses allocation hierarchies:
  1. In the target tenant, manually recreate the allocation pool hierarchies using the
    Create Allocation Pool Hierarchy
    task or the
    Put Allocation Pool Hierarchy
web service. Include any required information such as the
    Allocation Pool Hierarchy Name
    and
    Allocation Pool Hierarchy ID
. Do not include allocation pool names or IDs.
  2. Migrate the allocation pools and plans using Object Transporter.
  3. In the target tenant, manually add the migrated allocation pools to the hierarchies using the
    Edit Allocation Pool Hierarchy
    task or the
    Put Allocation Pool Hierarchy
    web service.
