Receivables Reasons

Receivables Reasons

Receivables reasons are values that explain or categorize Customer Accounts activity. You can use them when you place amounts on account, write off invoices, put invoices in collection, record invoice disputes, or record customer overpayments.
You can maintain supported receivables reason types on the
Maintain Receivables Reasons
report. Workday supports these reason types:
Reason Type
Use
Collection
Classifies invoices in collections and collections activity.
Dispute
Explains why a customer invoice is in dispute.
On-Account
Explains why a payment or amount is placed on account during customer payment application.
Overpayment
Explains why a customer overpayment is recorded.
Write-Off
Categorizes customer invoice write-offs. Supports tax recovery configuration when opted in.
The
Maintain Receivables Reasons
report replaces multiple standalone tasks for a unified interface to create, maintain, and inactivate reason codes across your receivables operations.

Receivables Reasons for Write-Offs

When you opt in to the
Enable Tax Recovery on Invoice Write-Offs
option on the
Edit Tenant Setup - Financials
task, Workday enables you to define tax recoverability parameters when creating receivable write-off reasons on the
Maintain Receivables Reasons
report.
If your organization previously shared write-off reasons between Student Financials and Customer Accounts (dual usage) on the
Maintain Receivable Writeoff Reasons
task, you must transition management of those Customer Accounts reasons to the
Maintain Receivables Reasons
report. See Maintain Receivables Write-Off Reasons.
