Concept: Leased Assets

Concept: Leased Assets

Leased assets have spend categories that you've configured for lease accounting. See Create Spend Categories for Lease Accounting.

Leased Assets from Supplier Contracts Within Workday

When you fully receive lease-type supplier contracts, Workday creates leased assets that you can register, track, and depreciate in Workday. Workday populates asset details from the supplier contract and restricts the actions that you can directly perform on leased assets. When you amend supplier contracts, Workday updates asset details. See FAQ: Assets on Lease-Type Supplier Contract Amendments.
You can't issue these assets to workers.

Leased Assets from External Supplier Contracts

You can also manually register leased assets in Workday while maintaining lease contract information on external applications.
When you manually register leased assets:
  • Select the
    Leased
    acquisition method.
  • For leased assets with term depreciation, enter external contract start and end dates.
