Steps: Set Up Floors and Ceilings for Revenue Driven Budgets

You can define a
Floor
as the amount of revenues to be recorded before the budget spending authority begins increasing for your revenue driven budget rules. You can also define a
Ceiling
amount as the maximum amount the budget spending authority can increase to from the recorded revenue for your revenue driven budget rules.
  1. Access the
    Create Revenue Driven Budget Rule
    task.
    As you complete the task, consider:
    Option
    Description
    Ceiling
    Enter a maximum amount that the budget spending authority can increase to.
    Floor
    Enter a minimum amount of recorded revenues before the budget spending authority begins increasing.
    Effective Date
    Workday:
    • Recommends setting the
      Effective Date
      the same as the
      Plan Date
      .
    • Only considers revenue transactions from the
      Effective Date
      onward.
    • Won’t retroactively consider revenue lines prior to the
      Effective Date
      . This includes calculations for
      Floor
      and
      Ceiling
      .
You can use the
Recorded Revenue to Floors and Ceilings
report to view the:
  • Total recorded revenue compared to the floor and ceiling.
  • Increased target budget.
  • Recorded revenue.
