You can optionally, use the Accounting Center Process to publish a Prism dataset and use it for reporting.
You can publish a Prism dataset for any or all of these stages:
- Enrichment
- Detailed Accounting
- Summarization
You can use the Prism Data Export REST API if you have high-volume data extraction requirements for your reporting needs. The API is accessible only to Accounting Center users.
- (Optional) Assign access to theProcess: Accounting Centerdomain through a constrained Roles - Source System security group.When you grant a user access to a domain through a constrained security group, Workday limits access to each accounting source based on the user role.
- (Optional) Add the Roles - Source System security group to the Accounting Center Summarization Event security policy.When you grant a user access to a business process through a constrained role-based security group, Workday limits access to each accounting source based on the user role.
- Access the Accounting Center Event business process for which you want to create a Prism dataset.Example:
- Accounting Center Enrichment Eventbusiness process for the Enrichment stage.
- Accounting Center Detailed Accounting Eventbusiness process for the Detailed Accounting stage.
- Accounting Center Summarization Eventbusiness process for the Summarization stage.
- From the related actions menu of the business process, select .
- ClickOK.
- Configure an additional step ofServiceand clickOK.
- ClickConfigure Publish Prism Dataset.You can't select the same dataset for parallel published steps.
- As you complete theConfigure Event Servicetask, consider:FieldDescriptionPrism DatasetOnly displays publishable Prism datasets.Run As UserEnter a user name with access to both:
- The publishable dataset.
- All datasets in the lineage.
Abort Business Process EventCheck if you have parallel published steps and want to stop the business process from progressing when the publish job fails or aborts.Workday will set the batch stage status toAbortedand the Business Process status toCanceled.If the publish job fails before the accounting center job started, you can Retry the event.If the publish job fails or aborts after the accounting center job completes for the Enrichment or Detailed Accounting stage, you can Force Complete or Retry the event.If the publish job fails or aborts after the accounting center job completes for the Summarization stage, you can only Force Complete the event.If you’re defining nonparallel publish steps, use this field and this service step to stop the Business Process event if the Prism dataset fails to publish:- Publish Prism Dataset Job Statusfield.
- Abort Accounting Center Eventservice step.
- ClickOKand thenDone.
Workday publishes the Prism dataset when processing the Accounting Center event and makes the data available when the process is complete.
Use the published dataset for reporting.
