Concept: Personnel Action Requests on the Hire Business Process

The
Personnel Action Request
sub-process of the
Hire
business process includes the Block Overrides section. This section enables you to accurately capture values when processing employee transfers. Workers who have security access to process Personnel Action Requests (PAR) can edit the Block Overrides section.
With the Block Overrides section, you can add override values in PAR Blocks 7-13 and in
Prior
fields. You can use the
Transfer in Agency Code
field to capture PAR Block 14 information.
You can correct overridden data using the
Correct Personnel Action Request
task.

Override Priority

Workday prioritizes overrides in this order:
  1. Empty PAR blocks configured in the
    Personnel Action Request
setup task for certain Nature of Action (NOA) codes.
  2. Override values entered in the
    Personnel Action Request
    event.
  3. Standard derived values.

Overrides for PAR Blocks 7-13

Values you enter for PAR Blocks 7-13 override the Details section of the
Personnel Action Request
task, the SF-50, and the SF-52, based on override priority. Overridden values appear in the Details section of the
Personnel Action Request
task after you save the changes or submit them.

Overrides for Prior Fields

Workday stores values for
Prior
fields in the
Personnel Action Request
event. Enterprise Human Resources Integration (eHRI) uses values from these
Prior
fields when employees transfer in:
  • Prior Work Schedule
  • Prior Duty Station
  • Prior Pay Rate Determinant
These values are not available on the worker profile or for reporting purposes.
