Concept: Account Reconciliation Workspace in AP&C

The
View Reconciliation Workspace
report in Adaptive Planning and Consolidation (AP&C) displays detailed information about an individual reconciliation. You can access this report by clicking
View
for a reconciliation on the
Account Reconciliation Hub
.
The header and
Reconciliation Definition Properties
section display a subset of the criteria used to create the reconciliation.
The
Reconciliation Summary
displays a summary of the balances to be reconciled and, when the reconciliation has been certified or submitted for certification, the certified balance or the balance awaiting certification.
The
Supporting Balances
,
Reconciling Items
,
Comments
, and
Process History
tabs enable you to view detailed information about the reconciliation and its audit trail. The
Process History
tab displays after a preparer submits the reconciliation for certification, when the
Reconciliation Period Event
business process initiates. Workday doesn't display the
Process History
tab for autocertified reconciliations, since they don’t generate business process event histories, or for autocertified reconciliations that are manually decertified.
As a preparer, when you access the
View Reconciliation Workspace
report you can:
  • Start preparing the reconciliation.
  • Reassign the reconciliation from another preparer to yourself.
  • Drill down on summary balances to view underlying journals.
  • Add reconciling items, supporting balances, and attachments.
  • Add comments to the reconciliation, or to the reconciling items and supporting balances on it.
  • Submit the reconciliation for certification.
As an approver, you can:
  • Review the details of the reconciliation.
  • Add comments to the reconciliation, or to the reconciling items and supporting balances on it.
  • Drill down on summary balances to view underlying journals.
  • Certify the reconciliation.
  • Send the reconciliation back to the preparer for changes.
Users who have permission to rescind the
Reconciliation Period Event
business process can also decertify reconciliations from the
View Reconciliation Workspace
report. When you decertify a reconciliation, Workday changes the reconciliation status to
Decertified
and removes the active preparer and approver. The reconciliation displays on the
Account Reconciliation Hub
with all potential preparers and approvers assigned on the reconciliation definition, similar to reconciliations in
Not Started
status.
