You can refresh dashboards and charts with the latest information. Select the

button on the perspective toolbar.

Change the Perspective Context

Available in grid, presentation, and edit modes.
Watch: Context Filters (1m:35s)

Use context filters to change the data evaluated for all charts in the perspective. Example: Filter and show only data for a specific level and selected customers. Filter selections automatically save in your browser. You can have different filter selections saved on different web browsers and devices.
Time, Level, and Currency are permanent filters. Time and Currency have preset defaults. You can Add Perspective Context Filters by editing the perspective, such as the Customer context filter.

Change Time

Available in grid, presentation, and edit modes.
Watch: Changing perspective time (2m:22)

You can dynamically visualize a different set of data by temporarily changing the time at the perspective level for 1 or all charts. The override reverts to the defaults when you navigate away from the page.
You can override the default time from the perspective toolbar or the time toolbar at the bottom of each chart.
Before you change the time, make sure that any chart you want to adjust dynamically is not pinned. Pinned charts won't change. From the toolbar, click the date and select a time period from the drop-down.
Chart Time Toolbar Options
Reset icon Reset Time: Resets time to the default time settings.
Date range selector icon Period Range. Choose to view data from a date range.
Date selector icon Single Period: Choose to view data from a single date.
Click to pin or unpin the charts temporarily:
  • Unpinned icon Charts with unpinned time settings are relative to the time context the perspective.
  • Pinned icon Charts with pinned time settings. Time is fixed and won't change when time context changes in the perspective.
Date period calendarDate or Date Range
Time period selection drop-down Time: Change the scope of time. Example: Change month to quarter.
Time Changes on Unpinned Charts
All unpinned charts update to the time period you select:
  • Unpinned Unpinned Charts with
    single period
time settings change to the same time period you select from the perspective toolbar. Example:You select June 2023, and single time periods on charts change to June, Q2, and 2023.
  • Unpinned Unpinned Charts with
    time range
settings move forward or backward in synch with the global offset. Example: You move the time 2 months forward, so time ranges on charts move 2 months forward: January 2022-December 2022 changes to March 2022-February 2022.
  • Pinned Pinned charts don't change or adjust because the time setting overrides the global time setting. You can temporarily unpin a chart before you adjust the time in the toolbar and it will adjust.
