Add Upper and Lower Bounds to Outlier Reports

Security:
Access Reports
permission.
You can add 2 difference calculations in the report columns to display:
  • The variance between plan and predictions.
  • Data anomalies outside your upper and lower bounds.
You can then go to sheets to adjust the values as needed.
  1. Access the matrix report.
  2. From the
    Elements
    tab, click
    Calculations
    .
  3. Drag and drop the
    Difference
    calculation element into the columns after the prediction and plan versions.
  4. Right-click the calculation element and select
    Properties
    .
    As you complete the task, consider:

    Label
    Enter a label that describes the calculation:
    Example: Variance
    Display As
    Select
    Percent
    to display the variance amount as a percentage.
  5. Click
    Apply
    .
  6. Drag and drop another
    Difference
    calculation element next to the variance.
  7. Right-click the calculation element and select
    Properties
    .
    As you complete the task, consider:

    Enter a label that describes the calculation.
    Example: Anomaly
    Display As
    Select
    Percent
    or
    Value to
    display the anomaly as a percentage or amount.
    Conditional Formatting
    Create new rules for:
    • Greater than
    • Less than
    • Between
    Show
    For each rule you create, select an icon.
    Examples:
    • Select the red flag to indicate that the data is outside either the upper or lower bound.
    • Select the green flag to indicate that the data is within acceptable range.
