Submit Instance Refresh Requests

Submit Instance Refresh Requests

  • Before starting or scheduling a refresh, the Workday Customer Care team needs to confirm all required information and receive approval from a Named Support Contact (NSC).
  • If requests are submitted by non-NSCs such as consultants, customer success managers, or non-admin users, then these require written approval from a customer administrative user.
  • If the Adaptive Planning instance connects to a Workday tenant, see Steps: Set Up Adaptive Planning Tenants After Refreshes.
You can find the unique code for your instances from
Administration
General Setup
Code
under
Setup Information
. You need these details:
  • The unique code of the source instance that you want to copy to another instance. The source instance doesn't change and isn't overwritten.
  • The unique code of the destination instance that you want to refresh. The destination instance is overwritten or refreshed with a copy of the source instance.
  • The refresh data and time. If you don't specify a date or time, the refresh can start at the earliest availability of the staff.
  • The administrative user who should receive new sign in credentials after the refresh.
Refreshes are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM CT. They can take between a few hours and 7 business days to complete. The completion time for a refresh depends on the:
  • Availability of the Workday Customer Care team.
  • Size of the instance. Typically, these instances take longer to refresh:
    • Multi-instance sandboxes.
    • Sandboxes cloned from instances that are greater than 50 GB.
The size of the refreshed or cloned instance might not exactly match the size of the source instance because of storage level variations.
