Machine Learning for Forecasts

Predictive Forecaster uses machine learning algorithms to populate data in specific versions based on the historical data that you define. Predictive Forecaster saves time with data entry and creates more precise models for your plans.

The Predictive Forecaster Page

The
Predictive Forecaster
page displays 2 tabs:
  • Forecasts
: List of all the forecasts in your model that you and others have saved or have run.
  • Schedules
: List of all the schedules that you or others have created.
You can use the
Add New
button at the top of the page to either create new forecasts or new schedules.
You can sort the forecast list by the columns. You can hover over the forecasts in the list to access the
More Actions
menu. Click the 3 dots that display. From there, depending on the status of the forecast, you can select:
  • View Details
: Review the parameters of the forecast.
  • View History
: Review the parameters, run history and status, including the error messages for failed forecasts and
    Confidence Metrics
    when available.
  • Run
: Start any saved, completed, or failed forecasts.
  • Edit
: Change the parameters of any saved, completed, or failed forecasts. You can also edit forecasts by clicking the forecast name from the list.
  • Duplicate
: Create a new forecast with the same parameters. Feel free to change the parameters.
  • Delete
: Remove the forecast from the list. Deleting a forecast doesn't remove the forecasted data generated by the forecast. You can also delete forecasts by selecting the check boxes next to the forecast and clicking the delete icon from the toolbar.
  • Cancel
: Stop a forecast from completing.
In the
Schedules
column, you can see the name of the schedule when applicable. To check the status of forecasts within the same schedule, sort by this column. All the forecasts in the schedule display next to each other in the list.
In the
Schedules
tab, you can review the list of schedules. You can hover over the schedules in the list to access the
More Actions
menu. Click the 3 dots that display. From there, depending on the status of the schedule, you can select:
  • Run
: Runs the scheduled forecasts ahead of time.
  • Edit
    : Opens the
    Edit Schedule
    dialog.
  • Pause
: Stops the next runs until you resume them.
  • Resume
    : Reactivates a paused schedule.
  • Delete
    : Removes the schedule.
