Add Time Periods to Calendar
- Configure the time structure on your default locale.
- Download a blank TimeStructure spreadsheet. See Download the TimeStructure Spreadsheet.

- Timepermission.
- Configure Calendarpermission.
You can extend your custom calendar so that you can start planning for those new time periods. Once you add new time periods to your calendar, you can update your versions and reports to display these new time periods.
To add time periods to your time structure, use a blank spreadsheet template. Then use the
Append
import option. You can't change or add time strata, add alternate calendars, or delete time periods in the same import that you're adding new time periods.
To remove time periods from the default calendar, download the existing time structure and use the
Reload
import option. This import option removes the entire structure and deletes all calendars, data, and versions.Carefully select and review your time periods before importing changes to your default calendar.
- Open the TimeStructure spreadsheet.
- As you add rows on your spreadsheet for your new time periods, consider:

LabelRequired.Indicates how to display the time strata and how to display the time on sheets and reports. Example: Enter the labelMonthin the first row for the calendar.Monthdisplays in theDisplay Optionsof sheets and in theStrata Rollupof Time administration. EnterJan 2015,Feb 2015, and so on for each date in the rows. In sheets, the header column displaysJan 2015,Feb 2015and so on.Short NameOptional. Indicates how to abbreviate the labels. Short names for calendar elements don't display in the model.
On all of versions where you want to add time periods, change the last time period that you can see on the version:
- For plan versions, change theEnd of plan.
- For actuals versions, change theEnd of version.
If you use Excel Interface for Planning or OfficeConnect, update the elements in your existing reports to display the new time periods.
