Create Virtual Versions

You can create virtual versions to consolidate other versions for scenario-based planning and constant currency reporting. Virtual versions are read-only composites of:

A base version, which you use for the data.

An exchange rate version, which you use for the exchange rates that translate the base version data.

Virtual versions remove exchange rate fluctuations when you report on the variances between versions.

Select

Modeling

from the main menu.

Click

Versions

Select the version folder where you want to create your virtual version.

Select

Create new virtual version

from the toolbar.

For

Base version

, select the version that provides the data.

Next to

Exchange Rate

, click

Edit

to configure the virtual version.

As you complete the task, consider:

Enter the number of periods to shift forwards or backwards.

Create your constant currency report using your virtual version.
