Steps: Configure UPA for Adaptive Planning (For First-Time Implementations)

  • For Adaptive Planning multi-instance setup:
    • The implementor (admin) needs to be part of the parent instance.
    • The parent instance must be set up as the default instance.
  • These domains in the System functional area:
    • Set Up: User Provisioning
    • Report: User Provisioning Status
    • Manage: Workday Adaptive Planning User Provisioning
For users implementing SSO and user sync for the very first time, we recommend the Unified User Provisioning and Authentication (UPA) configuration. UPA provides a more streamlined and secure method for managing user access to Workday Adaptive Planning.
  1. Configure User Provisioning Workspace (UPW) for enabling security groups for provisioning and setting up access to the workspace.
  2. Validate that users are synced into Adaptive Planning.
  3. Configure Unified Access Management (UAM) to automate the management of permissions and security groups across Workday and Adaptive Planning.
