Delete Versions

Delete Versions

  • If the version has sub-versions, delete the sub-versions.
  • If the version is a journal entry, delete all journal entries.
  • If the version is the default version, assign another version as the default.
  • Security:
    Versions
     permission.
When you delete versions, you can't reverse the action. You delete:
  • All the data of that version.
  • Audit trail data associated with that version.
  • Any related virtual versions.
Don't delete versions when you have other new versions that are in progress.
  1. Select
    Modeling
     from the main menu.
  2. Click
    Versions
    .
  3. From the version list, select the version.
  4. If you haven't already, unlock the version.
  5. In
    Access Control
    , select
    Full Access
     for all user types.
  6. From the toolbar, click
    Delete
    . Depending on the size of the version, it can take several minutes to delete.
  7. Confirm.
Deleting a version deletes data in sheets and affects reports and charts that use the version. Also, it breaks formulas that reference the version.
