Create Prediction Versions for Anomaly Detection

  • Delete the existing prediction version before creating a new one. When you delete your old prediction version, you also delete all former predictions and detected anomalies.
  • Change the Default Time Strata. Select
    Month
     for your default time strata.

The
Anomaly Detection
 machine learning algorithm uses your actuals data to predict values. The prediction version holds the resulting predicted values.
The prediction version is a type of plan version. It's also a prerequisite for anomaly detection and outlier reporting.
Anomaly Detection
 and outlier reporting stop working if you delete this version without creating a new prediction version.
  1. Select
    Modeling
     from the main menu.
  2. Click
    Versions
    .
  3. From the toolbar, click
    Create new plan version
     and select
    Create prediction version
    .
    The option isn’t available if you already have a prediction version.
  4. Complete the
    Version Details
     section exactly as described here:

    Actuals version for overlay
    Select the version that you want the algorithm to reference as historical data.
    When you have only 1 actuals version, you don't see this setting. The algorithm automatically references the root actuals version.
    Start as Copy of Version
    Select the plan version that you want to copy.
    Adaptive Planning automatically copies existing consolidation percentages and exchange rates to the prediction version.
    Copy all override formulas
    (Optional) Select the check box to preserve override formulas for accounts with formulas.
    End of plan
    Select a date when the predictions end. From the
    Start of plan date
    , when it's:
    • Less than 24 time periods, your predictions will have less than 24 data points.
    • More than 24 time periods, your predictions will have 24 data points.
    Start of plan
    Select a date that comes at least 24 time periods after the earliest time period of your actuals version. The date should also be before the last time period of your actuals version. The algorithm generates no more than 24 predictions from the date that you select.
    Left scroll limit
    Select a date before the
    Start of plan
     date.
