Example: Configure Territory Rules with Dimension Mapping
- Security:
- Editable Sheet Accesspermission.
- Modelpermission.
- Structure Importpermission.
- Import to All Locationspermission.
- Access to your external CRM source system to export data.
- Create a modeled sheet for CRM data for sales planning.
You can create territory rules using derived dimension values built from custom dimensions for your sales territory hierarchy. If you set matching rules for incoming CRM sales account data, that data can automatically assign to the correct territory.
- Create the custom dimensions that combine into your derived dimensions.Example: Create Country, State, and County dimensions that contribute to your derived dimension values.
- Example: Map the custom dimensions that contribute to the Theater, Region, and Territory derived dimension values.
- Add Dimension Mapping Tables in Dashboards, or import your dimension mappings.Dimension mappings on dashboards enable you to use rules to mass assign dimension values.
- Import your CRM data so that the custom dimensions you mapped mass assign your territory dimension values.
Once you import from your CRM, your derived dimension values automatically populate with the relevant data.
Your territory rules could include:
- Theater: A custom dimension with derived values based on the Country dimension.
- Region: A custom dimension with derived values based on Theater, Country, and State dimensions.
- Territory: A custom dimension with derived values based on Region, Country, State, and County dimensions.
Once you configure your territory rules, you can adjust your sales planning dashboards and sheets to modify your territory plan.
