Interact with Dashboards

Security:
Access Dashboards
 permission.
Dashboards are interactive visualizations. Even when you don't have permissions to edit dashboards, you can still manipulate perspectives and dashboard charts to gain insight from the data.
  1. Select
    Dashboards
     from the main menu.
    A list displays all the perspectives that you've created or that others have shared with you.
  2. Click a perspective from the list.
  3. As you interact with the perspective toolbar, consider:

    Time, Level, Currency
    Select different filters to change the data displayed in the charts. Filter selections automatically save in your browser. Your perspective might have additional filters.
    Your selection for
    Time
     doesn't change charts that have time pinned.
    Edit
    Click to edit the dashboards, context filters, and charts.
    Security:
    Edit Dashboards
     permission.
    Filter
    Click to change all filters at once.
    Refresh
    Refresh all charts with the latest data.
    Snapshot
    Save static images of the entire perspective that won't change when data changes.
    Security:
    Create and Schedule Snapshots
     permission.
    Grid mode
    View several charts on the dashboard at once so you can see how they relate and interact.
    Presentation mode
    View 1 chart at a time as a slide deck:
    • Use the left menu to click through the slides.
    • Use your keyboard to scroll through the slides.
  4. As you interact with each dashboard or chart, consider:

    Download Dashboard
    To download PNG files of entire dashboard, click the
    More
     icon next to the dashboard tab name and select
    Download Image
    .
    Download Chart
    To download charts, click
    Grid mode
    , hover over the chart to display and click the
    More
     icon from the upper corner of the chart. Select 1 of the available options:
    • Download Image
      .
    • Download
      .
    • Printable View
      .
    Expand
    To expand charts to full size in
    Grid mode
    , hover over the chart to display and click the expand icon.
  5. As you interact with data in charts, consider:
    • Summary information: Hover over data points on charts.
    • Explore Cell: In
      Grid mode
      , click data points and select
      Explore Data
       to launch
      Explore Cell
       in a separate window.
      Explore Cell
       provides detailed information on the data with links that lead to deeper details.
    • Drill: In
      Grid mode
      , click data points and select
      Account
       or any of the custom dimensions listed. A new chart displays the breakdown of accounts or dimensions that contribute to the total.
    • Time: Change the time period of the chart data. See Concept: Analyze Data and Interact with Charts.
