Use Sparklines in Sheets

Use Sparklines in Sheets

  • Open a standard or cube sheet. See Open Sheets.
  • Security:
    Editable Sheet Access
    permission.
Sparklines are line or bar charts of data trends on standard and cube sheets. When you turn on sparklines, they display in the first column of the sheet. The sparkline charts the data from all the cells in the same row. You can click the sparkline cell to display a larger, more detailed visualization. For unlocked sheet values, you can drag points on the trend line as a way of changing the data in the sheet.
  1. From the toolbar, click
    Display Options
    .
  2. Click the
    Sparklines
    tab.
  3. Select the line chart or bar chart format.
    To remove the sparklines, select
    None
    .
  4. Click
    OK
    .
    The sparkline displays in the first column of the chart.
  5. (Optional) To expand the visualization, click the cell with the sparkline.
  6. (Optional) To change data, drag any point of the expanded sparkline to a new position.
    You can only change the corresponding data of unlocked cells. The data in the corresponding cells in the row update as you drag the sparkline points.
  7. Save your changes.
