Reset or Unlock Passwords for Users
Security:

You can reset passwords for users when:
- They forget their password.
- Leave the company.
When users sign in with the password you created, Workday can prompt them to change their passwords. See Set Password Requirements.
When users unsuccessfully attempt to sign in 10 times within 24 hours, their accounts lock. You can change the default settings for Allowed failed attempts. See Set Password Requirements. You can see locked accounts from the Users List.
Passwords must conform to the password requirements you define in the General Setup page.
- SelectAdministrationfrom the main menu.
- SelectUsersfrom theUsers and Permissionsmenu.
- (Optional) To reset a password:
- Find the user in the list.
- Hover your cursor on the row to display theActionsmenu (three vertical dots).
- Select theEditoption from the menu.
- Scroll to theCredentialssection and enter a password in theNew PasswordandVerify New Passwordfields.
- (Optional) To unlock a password:
- Find the user with the locked password in the list.TheLogin Statecolumn displays theLockedvalue for the user.
- Click theActionsmenu (three vertical dots) for the user and select theEditoption.
- In theCredentialssection, from theStatefield, selectUnlocked.
- ClickSave.
