Create Basic Matrix Reports
- Familiarity with the available web report types, data access, and precedence rules.
- Security:
- Access Reportspermission.
- Create Personal Reportspermission.
- Create Shared Reportspermission.
You can create a matrix report by defining its rows and columns. A valid matrix report must include at least:
- 1 account or account attribute element.
- 1 row and 1 column.
Example: An income statement is a common matrix report that includes assets and liabilities on the rows and time on the columns. You can create complex matrix reports by stacking elements in the rows, columns, filters, and parameters areas.
- SelectReportsfrom main menu.
- Click .
- From theElementspane, add:
- Accounts or account attribute elements to the rows or columns.
- Any other elements besides accounts to the rows or columns.
- (Optional) 1 or more elements you want to use as filters into the Filters section.
- (Optional) 1 or more elements you want to use as parameters into theParametersarea. Report parameters enable viewers to adjust the report. You can create parameters using any of the elements currently on the report. Example: To enable viewers to change the level on the report, addLevelto the parameters.
- (Optional) To display information such as the default version, level, or currency that applies to the report:
- From the toolbar, clickReport properties.
- In theDisplaytab, select theShow report informationcheck box and clickApply.To hide this report information when viewing the report, clickHide Informationin the toolbar.
- ClickRun reportto display the data in the report viewer.
- Save the report. When you select aShare Reportsfolder location, you can selectSave & Shareto specify sharing details.
