Set Restrictions for Cube Sheets

  • Not available for merged cube sheets.
  • You need custom dimensions or attributes on the sheet.

    permission.
Restrict access to intersections of data to protect data and simplify your cube sheet. Cube restrictions provide flexibility and privacy for planning.
  1. Click
    Restrictions
    .
  2. Click the
    Add New
    button.
  3. From the box on the left, select a dimension that determines the restriction.
  4. From the box on the right, select the dimension that you want to restrict.
    Gray items in the list indicate:
    • A restriction already exists for that combination.
    • You can't restrict the dimension with the dimension selected in the left box. Example: You can't use accounts to restrict account attributes.
  5. Click
    Next
    .
  6. From the right, click the elements you want to restrict.
  7. From the left, click the elements you want to restrict.
The sheet hides the intersections you restricted.
You have a new
Product
dimension value,
Hats
. You created
Hats
for a what-if scenario. You don't want to bother or confuse your team as they prepare the budget for this year. In the cube restrictions, select
Version
and
Product
to restrict. After you click
Next
, click the budget version for this year from the version list. Select and
Hats
from the
Product
dimension list. When users open the sheet, they can't see the
Hats
dimension value if they're working in the budget version for this year.
You can continue building or changing the sheet.
