Adjust the Values of Multiple Cells
- To change values on a version scenario, create a scenario version inModel Management.
- Ensure that you have access to any versions or scenario versions where you want to change data.
- Security:Editable Sheet Accesspermission.
When you enter numerical data in sheets, you can adjust that data to increase or decrease the overall value of multiple cells in a row, column, or range. The
Adjust
option enables you to:- Correct overages or deficits. Example: Your estimated quarterly budget is over by 1,000. You need to adjust all cells in the account row for the quarter by -1,000.
- Adjust copied data. Example: You copied the data from last year actuals into the current year budget. You need to increase all values in a sheet, column, or row by 10% for your budget.
The adjustment ignores:
- Gray read-only cells in your selection.
- Blue rollup cells if your selection also contains the contributing cells.
When cells contain formulas, the adjustment automatically replaces the calculated values with the new adjusted values.
- (Optional) To propose changes to the base data using a scenario version, from the version prompt, select the base version to expand it.
- (Optional) Select the scenario version that’s nested inside the base version.
- Select a range of cells.
- Right-click the range and selectAdjust.
- Select an adjustment option. As you complete this task, consider:
옵션 설명 Distribute Adjustment ProportionallyDistributes the positive or negative integer that you enter to the current values of the cells proportionally.Distribute Adjustment EvenlyDistributes the positive or negative integer that you enter to the current values of the cells evenly.Apply Adjustment IndividuallyDecreases or increases the adjustment to each cell by the percent or value you specify.
The table illustrates different adjustment options and outcomes. The starting values are:
- Cell 1:1,000
- Cell 2: 2,000
- Cell 3: 3,000
Desired Outcome | Adjust Options and Inputs | Post-Adjustment Values |
|---|---|---|
Spread 1000 across the cells in proportion to their existing values. |
|
|
Spread 1000 evenly across the cells. |
|
|
Add 100 to the value of each cell. |
|
|
Subtract 100 from the value in each cell. |
|
|
Add 10% of each cell value to the current value. |
|
|
Subtract 10% percent of each cell value from the current value. |
