Set the Scope for Calculations in Cube and Modeled Sheets
- Build the sheet. See: Steps: Build Modeled Sheets or Steps: Build Cube and Merged Cube Sheets.
- Security:Model includes sheets, accounts, dimensions, and formulaspermission
To improve the performance of cube and modeled sheets, you can set a time range for calculated accounts.
Start and end times are relative to the version settings, so you generally only need to set the scope once per sheet.
The scope that you set for actuals:
- Includes all sub-versions.
- Is relative to theCompleted Values Throughdate for actuals versions.
The scope that you set for plans:
- Includes all plan versions.
- Is relative to the respectiveStart of Plandate of each plan version.
- Is relative to theCompleted Values Throughdate of actuals when theStart of Planis more than 1 period after theCompleted Values Through.
- Click:
- Columns and Levelsfor modeled sheets.
- Dimensions, Attributes, and Levelsfor cube sheets.
- From the toolbar in the center panel, clickSheet Properties.
- Click theScopetab.
- In theActuals Valuessection, define the scope:

The options available depend on the setup of your calendar. Mostly commonly, they’reMonths,Quarters, andYears.
- Enter how many periods to offset the start or time period. You can enter a positive or negative number. Positive numbers move the scope forward. Negative numbers move the scope back.
