Remove the Cube Root Account

Remove the Cube Root Account

Security:
Model includes: sheets, accounts, dimensions, and formulas
permission.
To create more freedom with the account hierarchy in a cube sheet, you can remove the cube root. The cube account hierarchy has an account group that we call the cube root. All the cube accounts of the sheet belong to the cube root account. In order to remove the cube root account, you must have at least 1 standard account defined in the cube.
Example: The account hierarchy of the  Product Revenue cube sheet looks like this:
  • Product Revenue
    • Account A
    • Account B
    • Account C
We automatically create Product Revenue as an account group with the same name as the sheet. We enable you to rearrange the cube accounts within the cube root group in any order that you wish.
When you add general ledger and custom accounts to the cube, they can either display before or after the cube root group but not within the group.
Example:
Before the root:
  • General Ledger 1
  • General Ledger 2
  • Product Revenue
    • Account A
    • Account B
    • Account C
After the root:
  • Product Revenue
    • Account A
    • Account B
    • Account C
  • General Ledger 1
  • General Ledger 2
To move the general ledger accounts within the cube accounts, you can remove the root.
Example:
  • Account A
  • General Ledger 2
  • Account B
  • General Ledger 1
  • Account C

The cube root no longer displays in the hierarchy.
