Add Rows in Modeled Sheets
- Identity your sheet as a modeled sheet. See Concept: Sheet Types.
- To add rows on a version scenario, create a scenario version inModel Management.
- Ensure that you have access to any versions or scenario versions where you want to change data.
- Security:
- Editable Sheet Accesspermission.
- To create dimension values directly on the sheet for new rows, configure access to theEdit Dimension on Sheetpermission.
On modeled sheets, you can add new rows to include new records.

If you delete the row, you also delete all audit trail data associated with the row.
- (Optional) To propose changes to the base data using a scenario version, from the version prompt, select the base version to expand it.
- (Optional) Select the scenario version that’s nested inside the base version.
- To add a row, use any of these methods:
- SelectAdd Rowon the toolbar.
- Right-click anywhere on the sheet and selectAdd Row.
- Right-click anywhere on the sheet and selectCopy Row. We add the new row at the bottom of the sheet.
- Highlight multiple cells across rows, right-click on the highlighted area, and selectAdd x RowsorCopy x Rows. We add the same number of blank new rows or copied rows at the bottom of the sheet.
After you save, check your sheet filters to ensure that you can view the new rows and data.
This example illustrates how to use attributes and dimensions together for faster data entry in a modeled sheet. Group is an attribute of the Product dimension with these values:
Product | Group |
|---|---|
|
|
- To narrow the Product dimension list, in theGroupcolumn, click in any unlocked cell and selectTops. The shorter product list now only includes:
- T-shirts
- Tank Tops
- Blouses
- Sweaters
- To populate theProductcolumn, click in any unlocked cell in the column and selectTank Tops. TheGroupcolumn automatically populates withTops.
Add data on each unlocked cell of your new rows.
