Add Timespan and Initial Balance Columns to Modeled Sheets

Timespan
columns in modeled sheets display time periods as columns. They also enable your team to enter data into the cells. When you add a Timespan
column, you automatically create a timespan account in the account hierarchy of the modeled sheet. Example: On an Asset Planning sheet, name the Timespan
column Purchase Price
. Then users enter the cost of various assets for each month in the columns. You can then refer to the timespan account for a spread lookup that distributes the value of the assets into an Asset Depreciation account.Initial Balance
columns display as a data entry column on modeled sheets. Example: On a Personnel sheet, name the Initial Balance
column Pay Rate
. Users can enter the pay rate of each employee to plan personnel expenses.- From the sheet summary, clickColumns and Levels.
- From theElementstab, expandData Entry Columns.
- DragTimespanorInitial Balanceinto the center panel.
- Select theTimespanorInitial Balanceelement from the center panel.
- As you complete theGeneral Properties, consider:

Account DetailsAvailable after you save. You can link to the account details in the account hierarchy of the modeled sheet.
You automatically create corresponding data-entry accounts when you add
Timespan
and Initial Balance
columns.The columns display in the modeled sheet. Users can enter numerical data into the cells.
