Remove Dimension Values from Shared Formulas
- Shared formulas that refer to the custom dimension value.
- Security:Model includes: sheets, accounts, dimensions, and formulaspermission.
You might have many reasons to remove dimension values from shared formulas. These scenarios are the most common reasons:
- There's a shared formula for the version that refers to the dimension value and you no longer want the dimension available in that version.
- You want to delete the dimension value and there's a dependency displayed in theShared Formulastab of theView Dependenciestable.
- You have shared formula errors as a result of a deleted dimension value.
- SelectFormulasfrom the main menu.
- From the toolbar, click the arrow next to the print button and selectFormulas of all accounts.
- to locate all references to the dimension value, use the Find function of the spreadsheet.
- Either delete the shared formula, leaving the cell blank, or update the formula.
- Save the spreadsheet.
- Return toFormulas.
- From the toolbar, clickImport.
- Upload the saved spreadsheet using theUpdate and Appendoption.
When you're resolving dependencies, you can continue to resolve the other dependencies. When shared formulas are the only dependency, you can delete the dimension value. See Resolve View Dependencies to Delete Dimension Values.
