Reference: Drill Through to Workday Transactions and Objects

Workday actuals transactions and business objects can contribute to data when you load the data through Workday Data Management. Workday Data Management is a combination of data sources, data loaders, and metadata loaders set up to bridge HCM and Financials to Adaptive Planning.
You can't drill through to Workday objects from:
  • Web reports.
  • Dashboard charts.
  • OfficeConnect
    .
  • Excel Interface for Planning
    .
Each area of your model uses different methods to drill into
Workday
 and have different requirements.

  • Enable and set up
    Adaptive Planning
     Integration.
  • You use actuals versions and actuals overlay.
  • Access to the
    Drill into Workday Imported Numbers
     permission.
  • Standard Sheets.
  • Cube Sheets.
  • Matrix Reports.
  • OfficeConnect
     and
    Excel Interface for Planning
     when you connect them to
    Adaptive Planning
    .

When you drill through using these methods, you open a Workday report with Workday actuals data.
From a cube sheet, 2 different accounts can each drill into a different Workday report based on the drill report and affected accounts configured in the Workday external system.
  • Load Workday data and metadata through data sources, data loaders, and metadata loaders.
  • Use general ledger, metric, and custom accounts on standard sheets or matrix reports.
  • Use cube standard accounts on cube sheets when attributes are in the columns or filters, but not on the rows.
  • Only cells at levels, accounts, and dimensions that are leaf-level.

  • If only 1 Workday dimension contributes to the cell, we display the Workday convenience view for that dimension.
  • If multiple Workday dimensions map to 1
    Adaptive Planning
     dimension, you select the Workday convenience view from a list of Workday business objects.
Must contain Workday business objects loaded through data loaders and metadata loaders.
