Example: Set Up Access Rules for Regional Manager

Create access rules for a regional manager.
The manager leads all stores in the northern regions of the country. The manager has contributor permissions already, and you must create access rules that enable the manager to:
  • View the Inventory account at all levels.
  • Edit all accounts, including salary details, at the levels in their regions.
  • Have no access to prospect products, like Scarves.
Your model includes:
Levels
General Ledger Accounts
Personnel Modeled Sheet

Information about the sheet:
  • Calculates salary based on details of each employee.
  • Salary
    account in the sheet links to the account in the general ledger.
  • The
    Salary Detail
    setting for the sheet is on. This setting means you need the
    Salary Detail
    permission to open the sheet.

  1. Open the
    New Access Rules
    spreadsheet from your computer folder.
  2. As you complete the columns of the first blank row, consider:

  4. Save the sheet.
  5. Return to
    Adaptive Planning
    Administration
    Access Rules
    .
  6. From the toolbar, click
    Import
    .
  7. Select
    Update and Append
    .
  8. Click the cloud to upload the
    New Access Rules
    spreadsheet from your computer folder.
  9. Click
    Done
    .
