You can view cell data in new worksheets within the context of the model. You can then manipulate the data in the new worksheet and generate new reports without disrupting the existing report.
Example: Your Balance Sheet report compares the data for FY 2023 to FY2024. You want to understand better which months have the biggest spike in assets in 2024. Instead of modifying the existing report, you can use the
View By
option to break down the data at the intersection of Assets and FY2024. To see each period in FY2024 broken down by the corresponding Assets account, select:
  • Time = 2024 as the row element.
  • Expand row to level: Period
  • Columns: Account
You further add a Cost Center Hierarchy element to the Assets column. You can now see the assets data by that cost center broken down by the FY 2024 periods.
  1. Run an existing report or create one.
  2. Select the cell intersection for which you want to break down the data.
