Show Details for Report Cells
- Enable OfficeConnect for Workday Financial Management (Financials) data source.
The
Show Details
capability is available only to the Financials data source. On any report cell with data, you can use the Show Details
option to:
- Display the contributing journal line and plan line details in a new Excel worksheet.
- Drill through to Workday to view related journals and transactions.
Your administrator can configure the fields to display on the
Show Details
option using the Set Up Financial Reporting and Analytics Data Model
task.For improved performance when you use
Show Details
option on large worksheets with lots of details, we recommend that you:
- Use 64-bit Excel.
- Delete unused worksheets.
- Create Basic OfficeConnect Reports. Run an existing report or create one. Ensure that the report contains journal line or plan line data.
- Right-click a cell and from theOfficeConnectcontext menu, clickShow Details.OfficeConnect opens a new worksheet with the originating worksheet and cell reference in the tab name. Example: Balance Sheet_C7.
- To view context details about the original cell in the report, select the first cell in the new worksheet.The first cell in the new worksheet:
- Displays the date and time that OfficeConnect generated the data.
- Corresponds to the same elements as in theReviewtab of the originating cell.
- Review the journal line or plan line details. The fields that display are based on theShow Detailsconfiguration in theFinancial Reporting and Analytics Data Modeltask.As you complete this task, consider these key fields in your analysis:
Option Description JournalClick the link to navigate to the journal entry in Workday. When you aren't running an active session, Workday prompts you to sign in.Translated Debit Minus Credit AmountSelect the column to view the summary amount. Verify:- The column summary amount matches the originating cell amount in the report.
- The translation currency matches the currency that the new worksheet lists in the first cell.
- (Optional) To refresh the details in the new worksheet, return to the originating cell in the report and clickShow Details.
To sort or filter the journal line or plan line details or create pivot tables, use native Excel functions.
