FAQ: Version Access

In the access controls of the version, I selected
Full Access
for Users. Why are some of my users still unable to edit the data from sheets?
Users need the
Editable Sheet Access
permission to edit data. When you give users this permission, also select
Full Access
for the
Editable sheet access
prompt in the
Access Control
section.
In access controls, I selected
Hidden
for Editable sheet access. Why can some of the users still view the version?
Users receive the most permissive access when they belong to more than 1 of the user types. Example: You select
Hidden
for
Editable sheet access
and
Locked Except Notes
for
Administrators
. Users that have the
Editable Sheet Access
permission and the
Versions
permissions get
Locked Except Notes
access.
Users might also belong to Global User Groups that have more permissive access.
I set all the access controls to
Full Access
. Why can’t some users view or edit data as expected?
Possible reasons for this result are:
How can I lock the version for everyone except users within a specific group?
Remember that when users belong to more than 1 user type, they get the most permissive access.
  1. Clear the
    Locked Version
    check box.
  2. Select
    Locked
    for these user types:
    Administrators
    ,
    Users
    ,
    Editable Sheet Access
, and each group. (Select each group and save).
  3. For the specific group, select
    Full Access
    .
