Inherited or Cloned Level Settings

When you create a new child level, the child level inherits settings from their parent level. All levels inherit the

Display name

from the top-level.

When you:

Change a setting in the parent level, you automatically change the setting in all descendant levels.

Clone a child level, the cloned level copies the settings and data of the original child level.

If you change the rollup level while cloning a child level, the settings of the parent level override the settings of the original child level.

The table displays when you can still change the settings of the child levels.

Option	Impact on Setting of Child Level
Level Details	The child level inherits the In Workflow setting from the parent level. You can't change this setting in the child level if you select the No option in the parent level setting. You can change the Currency setting of the child level.
Elimination Settings	The child level inherits the Elimination Trading Partner setting from the parent level. You can't change this setting in the child level.
Version & Availability Settings	If you clear the Available in version check box in the setting of the parent level, the descendent levels become unavailable. This change deletes all the data in the child levels for the version.
Level Attributes	If the attributes aren't hierarchical, then you can't change the attributes that the child level inherits. You can assign new child attributes to the new child level if: The attributes are hierarchical. The parent level has a parent attribute.
Level Dimensions	If you want the child level to inherit changes made to the parent level, you must select the Propagate changes to all of this level's sub-levels check box.
