Enter Data in Lever Modeled Sheets
- Identify the forecast sheet that will use the lever modeled sheet. The forecast sheet is the sheet that you select in theForecastsection of thePredictive Forecasterpage.
- Security:
- Editable Sheet Accesspermission.
- Access rules that grant you edit access to the levels, accounts, and custom dimensions on the sheet.
Lever modeled sheets hold data that influence your machine learning (ML) forecast for a specific standard or cube sheet. The values you enter in the lever sheet adjust the algorithm calculations for the levels, accounts, and time periods listed in the rows of the sheet. Some lever sheets also contain custom dimensions.
When you enter regressor data, the system uses the first best match it finds and ignores any later matches.
Example:
Account | Level | Product | Jan 25 |
|---|---|---|---|
Revenue.UnitsSold | Engineering | Jackets | 6 |
Revenue.UnitsSold | Engineering | 7 |
The algorithm applies 6 to all data points for the account, level, and the Jackets dimension value. For all other Product dimension values, the algorithm applies 7.
You can enter the data in the sheet or import the data. To enter data, follow these steps.
- SelectSheetsfrom the main menu.
- From the list of sheets, click the sheet you're using for the levers. The sheet has a unique name for every instance.
- From the version prompt in the top navigation menu, select the same version that will hold the forecasted data.Your forecast fails when you select locked versions.
- From the toolbar, clickAdd Row.
- In theAccountcolumn, enter the account code that you want impacted by levers.Only enter account codes that you’ll also select for the forecast.
- In the same row, from theLevelcolumn, select a level code that you want impacted for the account.
- (Optional) When there are custom dimension columns, select dimension values that you want impacted for the account and level in the same row.
- Add as many rows as you need.
- Enter data for time periods between the reference start and the forecast end.
- Save the sheet.
The forecast generates values without the impact of levers for intersections that are missing values in the lever sheet.
