Concept: Cube-Entered Accounts

Cube-entered accounts are accounts from the general ledger or the custom account list that you add to cube sheets for data entry or visibility. After you select
Cube
for the
Data Entry Sheet Type
account setting, edit the cube sheet to add the general ledger and custom accounts to the cube account hierarchy.

Use Cases for Cube-Entered Accounts

Adding general ledger and custom accounts to cube sheets let's you use cube sheets instead of standard sheets for your income statements. Then, you can plan general ledger and custom accounts with custom dimensions and filter with attributes. It also keeps your general ledger intact.

Cube-Entered Account Characteristics and Limitations

  • You can add cube-entered accounts to 1 cube sheet and many standard sheets.
  • On standard sheets, cube-entered accounts are view-only. The cube sheet is where your team enters data for that account.
  • By default, cube-entered accounts don't roll up to the cube root. You can remove the root in order to integrate the accounts as you wish.
  • To add formulas or links to cube-entered accounts, you must add the account to the cube sheet before you add the formula.
  • You can change some settings from the hierarchies of the general ledger or custom accounts. Others are available from the hierarchy of the cube sheet accounts.
You can't:
  • Add cube-entered accounts to merged cube sheets.
  • Use cube-entered accounts in elimination rules with consolidation.
  • Add weighted average translation settings, which don't display in the settings once you change the
    Data Entry Sheet Type
    setting to
    Cube
