You use an AI agent to answer questions and complete multistep actions in complex tasks and workflows. The agent uses a large language model (LLM) to analyze data, identify patterns, and produce predictions, recommendations, decisions, or generated content.
Workday supports these agents:
- First-party agents, which Workday builds.
- Third-party agents, which you build.
Each agent uses skills. A skill is a task or activity that the agent runs. Each skill includes Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools, which are the resources the agent can use when it runs the skill.
The Workday Agent System of Record (ASOR) is the framework for these agents. You can use ASOR to:
- Find, add, register, configure, monitor, and manage AI agents.
- Govern, secure, and audit agents.
Adaptive Planning agent security framework currently supports only the Delegate execution mode.
- Set up ASOR in each of your tenants to manage your AI agents.
- Register your AI agents using ASOR to define them in Workday.
- Configure your agents to turn on the skills and set which security groups can use them.
