Concept: Security

Your instance uses one of 2 security structures to define specific intersections of data that users or groups can view or edit:
  • Level-based security structure where users can only see the data of levels they own. You assign levels to a user when you create their profile under Administration.
  • Access rules-based security structure where you define a set of rules that you can then assign to users or groups.
Irrespective of the security structure you adopt, you have several methods for securing and protecting data. Also, each method builds upon others and can at times override them.

Control the areas, sections, and services in Adaptive Planning users can see or access.
Access rules
Limits the data users can view or change using rules.
Level settings
Use the
Level availability
setting to make levels and their data visible in specific versions.
Version settings
Use the
Access Control
section in version settings to hide or lock the entire version or, lock portions of versions.
Account settings
Use these settings to control access to accounts:
  • Data Privacy
  • Salary Detail

Sheet properties
Use these properties to control access to sheets:
  • Mark them as read-only.
  • Hide them from sub levels.
  • Add cube restrictions to block access to specific intersections.
  • Flag as salary detail.
