Share, Check Out, and Publish Perspectives
- Create user groups. See Create User Groups.

Sharing a perspective lets you collaborate with others by giving users and groups view or edit access to your dashboards and charts.
When you share a perspective, you and others with edit access can:
- Share or unshare perspectives with users and user groups.
- Check out and make changes to a perspective.
- Check in and publish a perspective.
- SelectDashboardsfrom the main menu.
- From theActionsmenu of the perspective, complete 1 of these actions:
Option Description Share a perspective- SelectShare.
- SelectVieworEditaccess for each user or user group.
Unshare a perspective- For perspective owners: selectUnshare. This option removes access for all that the perspective has been shared with.
- For users with perspective edit access: selectShare. Clear the checkboxes of each user or user group that you want to restrict from accessing the perspective.
You can only unshare a perspective if the perspective is checked in and published.Check out a shared perspective- SelectCheckout.
- Click theEditbutton to make your changes.
- ClickDone.
You must check out shared perspectives to edit the perspective and associated dashboards. When you check out a shared perspective:- A version of the perspective is added to the personal folder until you publish changes.
- We lock the shared perspective to prevent others from making changes. We display a lock icon to those other users.
Check in and publish a shared perspectiveSelectPublish.Publishing checks in the perspective and makes it available for others to view, check out and edit, or delete. The perspective no longer displays in the personal folder.
