Concept: Dashboards
Dashboards are self-service, interactive visualizations of data, including Adaptive Planning
data.
Dashboards provide visibility into business performance, enable data-driven decision-making,
and increase buy-in and accountability throughout the organization.
With dashboards, you can:
- Monitor and drive business performance.
- Visualize numbers and charts side by side.
- Enter data with sheets on dashboards and dynamically see your charts update.
- Analyze current data over time and apply what you've learned to improve your plan.
- Add text on dashboards to create notes and collaborate with your team.

Perspectives group dashboards. Example: You can group dashboards by business unit, or by
task. Perspectives have filters that provide contextual views of all the dashboards inside
them.
The sortable list of perspectives available to you displays on the center panel when you
select
Dashboards
from the main menu. Dashboards
Dashboards group charts or other data analysis inside perspectives. You can organize
dashboards by theme or subject. Example: You can have a dashboard for revenue and a
dashboard for expenses.
In a perspective, each tab is a dashboard and often displays several charts. You can select
grid or presentation mode to view the charts on the dashboard.
Charts
Charts are the visualization of your data. Dashboards provide several different types of
charts and other tools that you can add to the dashboard. Chart types have different
settings and capabilities, so you can select the one that best suits the data you're
visualizing. Even without edit permission, you can interact with the charts and manipulate
the presentation of data.
