Add Reports on Dashboards

Add Reports on Dashboards

  • You can add only those reports that can run as HTML. If you add a report that was saved to run as Excel, then it will run as HTML in a dashboard. You can't add repeating reports because they can't run as HTML.

As a dashboard creator, you can add existing, shared matrix reports on a dashboard to view it alongside related charts and sheets. When you share this dashboard with users, they see:
  • The data to which they have access.
  • An error message if they don't have access to the report.
The reports that you add on a dashboard have fewer elements as compared to the regular reports. Hence, the data might not match between the two.
  1. Select
    Dashboards
    from the main menu.
  2. Click
    Edit
to put your dashboard in edit mode.
  3. Click the
    Charts
    tab to select a chart.
  4. Drag and drop
    Report
    to the design area.
  5. From the
    Appearance Settings
tab, name the report. This only names the container for the report and doesn't change the report name.
  6. From the
    Data Settings
    tab, select a report.
  7. (Optional). From the
    Data Settings
tab, select the parameters that you want to sync between the dashboard and reports.
  8. (Optional). To access the standalone live report outside the dashboard, use the
    Find Report
option on the dashboard. You can then edit and save the report or take other actions such as share and send notifications.
