Appearance Settings

Section	Field	Description
General	Name	The title of the chart. Character limit: 50.
General	Show in Presentation Mode	We select this option by default to display the chart in presentation mode. Turn the toggle off to hide the chart in presentation mode.
Axis		Define the presentation of the primary and secondary axes, including the labels. You can set primary and secondary axes independently. Settings for the secondary axis display only when you have set a secondary axis. You can set a secondary axis from the Series Y Axis field in the Account section of the Data Settings tab.
Axis	Font	Configure the font type and color for label text on the horizontal axis. Displays when Legend is on.
Axis	Axis Title	Select the format of the axis title.
Axis	Axis Auto Scaling	Decide if the axis automatically scales. When the Primary Axis Start From Zero setting is off, we scale based on the values in the data series. When you turn off Axis Auto Scaling , you must set the axis minimum and maximum values.
Axis	Axis Minimum	Enter the first point on the y-axis. Displays when Axis Auto Scaling is off.
Axis	Axis Maximum	Enter the last point on the y-axis. Displays when Axis Auto Scaling is off.
Axis	Axis Interval	Enter a number that's at least 5 percent of the Primary Axis Maximum value. Displays when Axis Auto Scaling is off. Example: When you set the interval and axis minimum to 1000, the axis displays these numbers: 1000, 2000, 3000, and so on.
Axis	Axis Start from Zero	Select how the axis starts when Axis Auto Scaling is on: On : Axis starts at zero. Off : Axis starts at the minimum value in the data set.
Axis	Actuals Overlay	Available when you have 1 data series on the chart or multiple data series all with the same version. On: Displays a green background for actuals data. Off: No distinction for actuals data.
Legend	Legend	Display or hide the chart legend.
Legend	Font	Configure the font type and color for label text on the horizontal axis. Displays when Legend is on. Available when Legend is on. The font type and color for the legend.
Conditional Formatting	Add rule	Create conditional formatting rules for data series in the chart: Description : A brief description of the rule. Expression : A rule that evaluates as true or false. If true, the data changes to the color specified. Click the question icon for syntax rules and a list of operators. Color : The color of the data that meets the condition. Series : The data series to apply the rule to.

Data Settings

Section	Field	Description
Accounts	Account	Each account in a chart has its own settings: Expand to change the settings for the data series. To remove an account from the chart, select Delete from the related actions menu of the account. To reorder accounts, drag and drop the the handler icon. The order affects the format and placement of the data series in a chart. Add to add accounts or dashboard metrics to the chart.
Accounts	Name	Sets the display name of the data series. Character limit: 50 characters. When you edit the name for these charts, you remove the version from the chart axis label: Area. Bar. Column. Doughnut. Funnel. Line. Pie. Pyramid. Example: The default name for the data series is 6200 Taxes & Benefits (budget version). You edit the name to Taxes & Benefits. We no longer display the version label (budget version) on the chart, even when you reset the name back to the default.
Accounts	Account	Changes the account in the chart.
Accounts	Version	Changes the version for the data series. Select From version selector to use the version currently selected on the toolbar. Example: Add a data series twice to a chart and change the versions for each to compare data between the 2 versions.
Accounts	Filter	Filters the data by levels, level attributes, custom dimensions, and dimension attributes.
Accounts	Series Type	Indicates how the data series for this account displays in the chart. When you have many data series in a chart, you can select a series type for each data series: Follow Chart : Display the series data based on the chart type. Line : Display the series data as a line. Column : Display the series data as columns. Area : Display the series data as an area. Scatter : Display the series data as data points.
Accounts	Data Labels	On: Displays data values on the chart elements. Example: Displays 1.7 million above the bar for Jan 2017. Off: Hides data values on chart elements.
Accounts	Accumulate Series	Indicates how to On: Displays the accumulated value at each data point. Off: Displays the net value at each data point.
Accounts	Trendline	Display or hide the trendline. The trendline displays an increasing or decreasing trend through all the data.
Accounts	Color	Indicates the color for the data series. The color next to the account settings section represents the color for the data series.
Accounts	Display Units	Format the display units: Follow Account : Use the display units set from the account. We use this format by default. #,000,000 (#,##0.#) : Display as millions with 1 decimal. # (#,##0) : Display as thousands with no decimals. #,000 (#,##0.#) : Display as thousands with 1 decimal.
Accounts	Negative Number Format	Select how to display negative numbers in the chart.
Accounts	Series Y Axis	Indicates whether the y-axis for this data series displays as the primary or secondary axis on the chart. To change the appearance of primary and secondary axes, edit the Axis section in the Appearance Settings.
Accounts	Time Alignment	Determines time period of the chart. Current : The chart always displays data in real time. Example: The chart displays March 2022 data on March 13, 2022. Previous : Offsets the analysis to a period of time before the current time. Next : Offsets the analysis to a period of time following the current time.
Accounts	Offset Count	Available when Time Alignment is Next or Previous , indicates the number of periods to count backward or forward in time.
Breakdown	Type	Time : Breaks data down by time as defined by the time settings. We automatically select this option by default. Example: Break down data by each month in a year. Dimension : Breaks data down by custom dimensions, levels, level attributes, and custom dimension attributes. Example: Break down data by a location or product. When selected, also select a dimension. None .
Breakdown	Dimension	Displays when you select Dimension for as the breakdown type. Specifies what to use for the dimension breakdown.
Breakdown	Suppress Zeros	Available when you select Dimension for Type . Hides data with zero values.
Breakdown	Stacked	On: Displays vertically stacked data. When selected, optionally set Show Stack Total . Off: Doesn't display vertically stacked data.
Breakdown	Show Stacked Total	Available when Stacked is on. On: Displays the stack total. Off: Hides the stack total.
Breakdown	Inlay Rendering	Limit: 2 data series. On: Displays 2 data series as embedded in front of the other. The order is the same as the order of the accounts in the Accounts section. The first account is the furthest back and the second account is in front of the first. Off: Doesn't embed the data series.
Sorting & Limits		Expand the Sorting & Limits section to define how to sort and limit data on a chart. We recommend that you breakdown by dimension for the best sort and limit results for area, bar, column, and line charts.
Sorting & Limits	Sort By	None : We automatically select this option by default. Data Series : Sorts on accounts or calculations added as data series to the chart. Dimension : Sorts on Breakdown selection.
Sorting & Limits	Sort Order	Displays when you select a data series or a dimension for Sort By .
Sorting & Limits	Limits	Limit the data that displays in the chart. When you select any First or Last option, enter a numeric value to indicate the number or percentage to limit by. Example: When you select Last N and enter 10 , the chart displays the last 10 records on the Sort By and Sort Order selections. When you select First % N and enter 10 , the chart displays the first 10% records based on the Sort By and Sort Order selections. When the record set is 100, the chart displays the first 10 records.

Time Settings

Section	Field	Description
General	Calendar	Displays when your instance uses alternate calendars. Select the calendar to use.
General	Stratum	Select the time strata for the data set.
General	Span	Range : Select to display data for a specified range of periods. You can select the start and end of the range for pinned charts, or set the start and end offset for unpinned charts. Single Period : Select to display data for an entire period or all dates up to a date. You can select the start and end of the range for pinned charts, or set the start and end offset for unpinned charts.
General	Data Range	Displays when you select Single Period for Span : Total Period : Includes all the dates in a period. To Date : Includes all dates up to a specific date.
General	Pin Time (blue)	Set a fixed time period based on the selected strata. Example: For Stratum select: Month . Then, for: Single Period spans, set a specific date. Example: May 2017. Range spans, select the start and end dates. Example: May 2017 to June 2017.
General	Unpin Time (gray)	Set time relative to the reference period displayed on the perspective toolbar and based on the selected strata. Current : Matches the date selected for the perspective. Backwards : Adjusts backward from the perspective date by the number you enter. Forwards : Adjusts forward from the perspective date by the number you enter. For Single Period time spans, set the relative time for the chart. For Range time spans, set the relative time for the start and end of the range.
