Match Account Settings for Source and Target Links

Match Account Settings for Source and Target Links

  • Create account hierarchies, including cube and modeled sheets. See Create Accounts.
  • Consider downstream and immediate results: Adding and removing links permanently removes any current data from target accounts across all versions.
  • Security:
    Model includes: sheets, accounts, dimensions, and formulas
     permission.
Before you add links to accounts, you have to match certain settings of the source and target accounts. When the settings don't match, the source account isn't available to select. You can only add links to these target accounts:
  • General ledger accounts.
  • Custom accounts.
  • Cube standard accounts.
You can't link accounts to:
  • Accounts with
    Weighted average of rolled-up values
     for
    Time Rollup
     or
    Level/Dimension Rollup
    .
  • More than 1 account when the
    Level/Dimension Rollup
     is
    Non-blank average of rolled-up values
    .
  1. Select
    Modeling
     from the main menu.
  2. Click
    General Ledger Accounts
     or
    Custom Accounts
    .
    For cube and modeled accounts:
    • Click
      Level Assigned Sheets
       or
      User Assigned Sheets
      .
    • Click
      Edit
       next to the sheet.
    • Click
      Cube Accounts
       or
      Modeled Accounts
      .
  3. Take note of these settings:
    • Type
    • Time Rollup
       for target accounts that are custom and cube accounts only.
    • Level/Dimension Rollup
       for target accounts that are custom and cube accounts only.
    • Display As
      .
  4. Match the
    Type
    .
    Changing the
    Type
     setting affects how data displays in the account.
    Type of Target Account
    Action
    General ledger accounts
    Change the source to match the general ledger.
    Custom or cube standard accounts
    You can change either the source or the target to match.
  5. Match the
    Time Rollup
    .
    Type of Target Account
    Action
    General ledger accounts
    Change the
    Time Rollup
     setting of the source account to:
    • Value in last period
       to match cumulative general ledgers.
    • Sum of rolled-up values
       to match periodic general ledgers.
    Custom or cube standard accounts
    Either:
    • Leave the settings as they are. Once you link the accounts, the rollup of the target account changes to match the source.
    • Change the source to match the target before linking.
    The source accounts must not have
    Weighted average of roll up values
     selected for
    Time
    rollup.
  6. Match the
    Level/Dimension Rollup
    .
    Type of Target Accounts
    Actions
    General ledger accounts
    Select
    Sum of rolled-up values
     for the source accounts.
    Custom and cube standard accounts
    Either:
    • Leave the settings as they are. Once you link the accounts, the rollup of the target account changes to match the source.
    • Change the source to match the target before linking.
    The source accounts must not have
    Weighted average of roll up values
     selected for
    Level/Dimension
     rollup.
  7. Match the
    Display As
     setting for all source accounts.
